Yo, have you heard about Michael Mounajjed? The dude’s the real deal in the startup world, and his story is just wild. So, he’s a Y Combinator guy, just dropped into the F24 batch, and he’s crushing it with this new thing called Durate. Basically, they’re automating hospital scheduling – you know, all those crazy admin tasks that make healthcare a nightmare? Yeah, that’s their jam. They wanna make it super smart, super simple, so docs and hospitals can focus on what really matters.

But what’s crazy is how he got here. Grew up in Madison, Wisconsin – right next to this huge medical software company. His parents are docs, so he’s kinda been around medicine his whole life. His mom’s deep in the internal medicine residency at UW-Madison, so healthcare’s in his blood. And even as a kid, he was a straight-up hustler. Built his first company in high school – Calceus Mining – where he was messing around with Ethereum rigs that processed millions. That’s some advanced shit for a high schooler, no cap. Dude got inducted into Wisconsin’s Business Hall of Fame at just 16. That’s how you know he’s not playing around.

Then he hits up Rice University, studying applied math and computer science – the perfect combo for a future startup dude. But he drops out, no surprise, to chase his dream. Met his co-founder Ben Liu there – they clicked and started Docflow, a startup to fix residency shift scheduling. That was actually the first Rice student startup to get into YC, which is a big deal. So, they’ve been at this for a while, perfecting their hustle.

Now they’re back at YC with Durate, aiming to totally change how hospitals run. It’s not just some random idea – it’s personal for Michael. Growing up around docs, seeing how messed up scheduling can be, he’s on a mission to fix the bullshit behind the scenes. He’s not just building startups for the hell of it – he’s got a real motivation to make healthcare better, smarter, less bullshit.

Long story short, Michael’s the guy who’s been crushing it since high school, hustling hard, dropping out of college, and now he’s got a vision that could actually change hospitals. He’s driven, smart as hell, and clearly cares about making a real impact. No cap, he’s someone to watch.
