Let's talk about Ammon Bartram

Nah but seriously, check out Ammon Bartram. This guy’s the real deal in the startup world, especially when it comes to tech hiring and building teams. Started out at Justin.tv, which was basically the OG of live streaming-think Twitch before Twitch was Twitch. There, he cut his teeth on the video system and got a front-row seat to how early internet platforms grow and scale. That’s where he first saw the chaos of hiring engineers and knew there had to be a better way.

Fast forward a bit, and he jumps into the startup scene proper. Co-founds Socialcam during the W12 batch at YC, a video sharing app spun out of Justin.tv. That thing took off and got bought by Autodesk in 2012-so, early wins, right? But Ammon wasn’t just riding the wave; he was thinking bigger. He saw that hiring engineers was still a mess, so he jumped into that space with Triplebyte, which he co-founded in YC’s S15 batch. This was his true passion project-building a platform that connects software engineers with companies and makes the whole hiring process way smoother.

He served as CEO of Triplebyte, scaling it to 70 people out in SF before they sold it. That’s no small feat-building a team, raising capital, crushing growth. All of this screams that he’s got a real knack for understanding both the technical side and the people side of startups. He’s super passionate about making technical hiring smarter and more fast, and he’s shared those insights everywhere-podcasts, YC talks, you name it.

Talk to her

What’s crazy is, his process shows he’s all about solving big problems that he’s personally experienced. Like, he’s been on the ground building products, hiring teams, scaling companies, and he’s seen firsthand where the pain points are. That’s what drives him-finding solutions to make founders’ lives easier and building the tools that actually work.

So, if you want to get why he’s important, think of him as a guy who’s been through the trenches, learned the hard lessons, and then built something that actually changes the game. He’s the guy who’s been there, done that, and now helps others do the same. No cap.
