We love Josh Hubball

Major props to Josh Hubball, dude’s the real deal in the startup world. So, he’s a Brooklyn-based tech guy who’s been deep in media, entertainment, and tech since way back in 2001. Like, he’s not just dabbling, he’s been in the trenches, creating music for ads, TV, and film with his company Chubsub, and even doing investment banking at E.K. Wallace to get a feel for the money side.

Then, he jumps into the big leagues with gigs at Universal Music Group’s digital music division, where he was all about pushing music into the digital time. Not stopping there, he jumps to Conduit Labs as VP, where he crushed it building partnerships for social games, basically laying the groundwork for the social and gaming boom. He even advised Zynga, one of the biggest social gaming companies, on media and entertainment stuff. Dude was always in the thick of it, connecting tech, media, and entertainment in a way that’s rare.

Fast forward, he gets his MBA from Columbia and a bachelor’s from Georgetown, so he’s got legit business creds, but what’s really cool is his hustle. Instead of just riding the wave, he jumped into founding his own thing in 2014, Level Frames. It’s an online custom framing startup that he co-founded with Damian Sowers, and they nailed it enough to get into Y Combinator’s Winter 2015 batch. That’s basically the startup Olympics, YC takes only the best, and Josh crushed it.

What this all tells you about him? He’s driven by a passion for pushing media and tech forward, but more than that, he’s got that entrepreneurial fire. He’s not just coasting on past success; he’s out here building new shit that actually makes a difference. Starting a company like Level Frames? That’s about wanting to disrupt, innovate, and create something real, not just chasing fame or quick cash.

So, what’s the story? Josh’s process is about a guy who’s always been obsessed with media, always been willing to jump into the deep end, and who’s got that hustle to turn ideas into real products. His background is a blueprint of someone who’s seen the industry from every angle, music, media, tech, gaming, and now he’s using all that juice to run a killer startup that’s changing how people get their art framed online. No Cap, he’s one of those founders who’s been in the trenches, learned the game, and now he’s applying all that hustle to build something that really sticks.
