Spotlight on the one and only Andy Huibers, this guy’s a straight-up tech beast. So, he’s from the S09 YC batch, right? But what really sets him apart is his crazy process through the tech world. Started out crushing it at Princeton with a BS in Electrical Engineering, then went all in on grad school at Stanford, got his MS and PhD, digging into electron transport in semiconductor quantum dots. Basically, he’s a legit nerd, but a nerd who’s built some of the coolest stuff in consumer tech.

He’s worked everywhere you’d wanna be, Google, Texas Instruments, Stanford, and even co-founded a startup called Bump. Yeah, the Bump App? That thing was the real deal, installed on over 130 million devices. That’s not small potatoes. They sold it to Google, which was a huge win. At Google, he was involved in projects like Google Labs, Project Starline, Google Camera, and Android. The guy’s been deep in the trenches of some of the most original stuff in imaging and mobile tech.

But Andy’s not just about software. He’s also the founder and ex-CTO of Reflectivity, a startup in the semiconductor and display space. The dude’s got 112 patents, mostly in opto-electronics and optical measurement, that’s some advanced innovation. And before all that, he held roles at Texas Instruments, where he led tech development, so, he’s got the chops in hardware and chips too.
