Brandon Shin

Major props to Brandon Shin, this guy is the real deal in the startup game. So, Brandon’s process started way back at UC Santa Barbara, where he studied Biopsychology. But don’t let that fool you, he’s all about tech and building stuff. He built and sold an iOS app to his own school, which is pretty wild. That shows he’s got that hustle from the jump, you know, jumping into the deep end and making shit happen.

Fast forward, he co-founded Polymail, which is like the ultimate email productivity tool for businesses. This was in YC’s Summer 2016 batch, so he’s got that YC stamp, meaning he crushed it early on. Polymail wasn’t just some side project, it was a legit company that got acquired later, proving he knows how to build something useful that people actually want. That’s no small feat. Building a product that’s good enough to sell? That’s the real deal.

Brandon doesn’t just chase one win. He’s jumped into a bunch of roles, like at Graphiq, a data viz and knowledge company, where he handled product. That shows he’s versatile, knows data inside out, gets user needs, and can build products from scratch. Then there’s CTRL LA, a dev shop where he was Lead iOS Developer, working side-by-side with co-founders on multiple ventures. He’s been in the trenches, leading teams, building apps, and truly understanding what it takes to turn ideas into real products.

He’s also co-founded Paper Run, a marketing channel startup, and worked as a startup consultant and in product roles at Common Room. Basically, Brandon’s been everywhere, he’s got that entrepreneurial hustle, always jumping into new projects, always trying to learn and build.
