You should know Jose Luis Perez
Peep this legend Jose Luis Perez, this guy’s the real deal in the startup world. He’s a tech entrepreneur who’s been crushing it for over a decade, and his story is just pure hustle.
So, Jose, he’s based in SF now, but his process started way back with his computer science degree from Universitat d’Alacant around 2003-2008. Right after that, he jumped into the game, founding Guiomatic in 2009, that was his first big move. Built something from scratch, learned what it takes to run a business, all while figuring out tech and product stuff. That’s where he got his hands dirty, building and leading teams, and really understanding what it means to create something people need.
Fast forward, he founded Hooks Technologies in 2014, which shows he’s not just messing around, he’s serious about solving problems. Being CEO there for almost 5 years? That’s no joke. He was deep in the trenches, making things happen. Then, he went on to be CPO at Mailtrack.io from 2019 to 2020, which is a pretty hot gig. Mailtrack’s all about email tracking, and he was leading product there, so he’s got that product chops.

Talk to herBut the real big change? In March 2020, he co-founded Trackingplan, and this is where he really hit his stride. It’s an automated observability solution for digital analytics, and let me tell you, that’s some advanced shit. The company’s working with heavy hitters like Zapier, Typeform, Zara, Unity, and others, these are big names, and that’s no cap. They raised half a million bucks a few years ago, proving investors see the same fire in him.
What’s super interesting is his process through YC’s W22 batch and Techstars, those are the elite programs that only the best get into. That’s where you see he’s recognized as someone who’s got the possible to shake things up. His experience across all these startups, plus his focus on tech and AI (he even did an executive master in AI in 2020), shows he’s always pushing his boundaries.
Honestly, what jumps out about Jose is his motivation. He’s not just building companies; he’s out here trying to solve real problems with tech, pushing innovation forward. He’s been through the trenches, learned what works, took risks, and now he’s leading a company that’s making a serious impact in digital analytics.
In short, Jose Luis Perez isn’t just another founder, he’s a builder, a problem-solver, and someone who’s dedicated to making the tech system smarter and more fast. He’s the kind of guy who jumps into the deep end and comes out with something that actually matters. That’s why I think he’s someone to watch.
